This document provides information about configuring the Futurex Vectera Plus HSM with a Windows Certificate Store by using the Futurex CNG cryptographic library. For additional questions related to your HSM, see the relevant user guide.

About Windows Certificate Stores

From the Microsoft documentation website: On a computer that has the Windows operating system installed, the operating system stores a certificate locally on the computer in a storage location called the certificate store. A certificate store often has numerous certificates, possibly issued from a number of different certification authorities (CAs).

Guardian integration

The Guardian Series 3 introduces mission-critical viability to core cryptographic infrastructure, including:
  • Centralization of device management
  • Elimination of points of failure
  • Distribution of transaction loads
  • Group-specific function blocking
  • User-defined grouping systems
See the applicable guide in the Futurex Portal for configuring HSMs with the Guardian Series 3, including PKCS #11 and CNG configuration.
