Test file encryption
This section describes how to download, view, and print encrypted files by using the Excrypt Touch.
Perform the following tasks after logging on locally to the Excrypt Touch with the print1 and print2 identities.
From the Excrypt Touch Dashboard, bring online the Connection Profile that you created for connecting to the KMES Series 3.
After the device comes online, access the application manager by selecting [ Go ] in the right column.
Log in to the KMES using the print1 and print2 identities.
Go to the File Encryption menu, right-click the encryption profile that you created in the previous section, and select Export.
In the Encrypted File Manager window, expand the tree until you can see at least one encrypted file. Select the file you want to download or export, and select [ Export ].
A message displays at the top of the screen that says Imported encrypted file followed by the file name.
Go to the Excrypt Touch Dashboard and open the Excrypt Touch Menu by touching the vertical black bar on the right side of the screen and swiping left. Select the Settings icon, represented by a gear symbol, then select Encrypted File Manager in the drop-down menu.
The encrypted file just exported from the KMES displays in the list.
Select any file in the list and select [ View ]. The Excrypt Touch decrypts the file and displays it for viewing. Use [ Next ] and [ Back ] to navigate through the document.
Select [ Close ] when you finish viewing the file.
From the Excrypt Touch Dashboard, bring online the printer connection profile that you created in the Excrypt Touch Configuration section of this guide.
After the device comes online, select [ Go ] in the right column.
An interface (served by the web server running on the printer) displays, which you can use to print encrypted files.
Select [ Choose File ].
In the Encrypted Files menu on the Excrypt Touch, select the encrypted file that you want to print, and select [ Select ].
In the main interface displaying the selected file, select [ Print ].
The web server confirms that the encrypted file printed successfully.
