Use CertAgent with the Vectera Plus

This section explains how to access CertAgent sites and ensure proper communication with your .

Access CertAgent sites

The following guidance requires you to add the certificates installed by CertAgent to the trusted list of your web browser.

You can use the following URLs to access CertAgent by using Internet Explorer or Firefox:

System administrative site

Description

Provides Admin controls over the system and server.

You can modify configuration settings here as well.

Must connect with the Admin certificate.

CA account site

Description

When connected with the Admin certificate, it allows you to set the certificate enrollment, management, CRL, and other settings.

When connected with the Operations certificate, it allows you to approve, sign, and revoke CSRs and complete other certificate enrollment tasks.

Public site

When connected with the Client certificate, it allows you to enroll, upload, and retrieve certificates to and from the HSM.

Ensure proper communication between CertAgent and the Vectera Plus

On the CertAgent Public site, use the Enroll function to send a certificate signing request (CSR). Using either Internet Explorer or Firefox, you can generate a key for a certificate to be signed by the HSM.

Perform the following steps:

  1. Select the CertAgent certificate profile and browse for your CSR.
  2. Enter a contact email address.
  3. Select [ Submit ].

A Request ID and message display showing that the request was successfully submitted.

Log in to the CertAgent CA Account Site by using the Operations certificate.

Select Pending under Certificate Requests. Locate the CSR and select [ Issue ].

A success message displays saying that the request was processed.

Proper application configuration with the HSM enables you to issue the certificate and retrieve it from the web.
