Pure Storage FlashArray

2min

Pure Storage FlashArray is an all-flash, high-performance storage solution designed to accelerate data access and simplify storage management. Combining advanced NAND flash technology, innovative data reduction techniques, and a user-friendly interface, it delivers consistent, low-latency performance and seamless scalability, making it ideal for organizations seeking to enhance their data centers and support mission-critical applications.

To understand how the Rapid Data Locking (RDL) feature fits in, it helps to know how data-at-rest encryption works on the Pure Storage FlashArray device. For information about data-at-rest encryption, refer to wp-flasharray-data-security-and-compliance.pdf in the Pure Storage FlashArray folder on SharePoint.

Rapid Data Locking (RDL)

Some environments require external key management for locking down a forward-deployed array. The Pure Storage FlashArray KMIP RDL solution enables you to use the for this purpose.

KMIP RDL

KMIP RDL introduces a secondary user-controllable key that enables unlocking the flash modules of the array. You remotely access the KMIP keys from a KMIP server (such as ). Without access to the server, the flash modules cannot be unlocked on power-on.

You can enable RDL during installation or at any time after that. After you enable it, RDL is permanent. It applies to all the SSDs of an array, including those added later.
