Install the TDP file encryption agent on a Windows machine
Perform the following steps to install Transparent Data Protection (TDP) Agent:
Extract the zip file downloaded in your browser after deploying the service in .
Move into the extracted directory. You will see the following files:
- credential.txt
- info.txt
- installer.msi
- trust.p7b
Open the Manage computer certificates program.
Right-click the Trusted Root Certificate Authorities store and select All Tasks > Import. This will open the Certificate Import Wizard.
Select [ Next ].
Select [ Browse ] and open the trust.p7b file, then click [ Next ].
The Trusted Root Certificate Authorities store should already be selected as the location to place all certificates. Select [ Next ].
Select [ Finish ]. You should see a message that the import was successful.
Double-click the installer.msi executable. This opens the Aether Setup Wizard.
Select [ Next ].
You must accept the terms in the License Agreement to proceed with the installation. Click the checkbox and select [ Next ] to continue.
In the Custom Setup step, you can select the way you want features to be installed, or simply click [ Next ] to proceed with the default installation configuration.
Configuration is the most important step in the wizard. Here you can define the following information:
- Host
- API Key
- Service UUID
- Check Certificate Revocation
- Check Server Certificate Hostname
To simplify the setup, the installer uses the information contained within the credential.txt and info.txt files to auto-populate the first three fields. Choose whether you want to disable the two checkbox fields, and then select [ Next ].
Select [ Install ] to begin the installation.
After the installation completes, select [ Finish ] to close the setup wizard.
When prompted to restart your system for the configuration changes made to Aether to take effect, select [ Yes ] to restart now or [ No ] if you plan to restart later manually.
