What is a VAP?
A VAP is a VirtuCrypt-owned virtual private cloud. Virtual private clouds provide a logically separated section of the public cloud, where an organization, in this case VirtuCrypt, defines its own virtual network. The VAP allows secure access to VirtuCrypt from a public cloud without directly traversing the internet. It also supports various access methods, including connections between different public cloud provider regions (such as USA/Canada, Europe, or Latin America), access from on-premises applications through a VPN, or hybrid environments. VAPs enable you to connect to the service through this private connection.Architecture overview
It is important to follow best practices by ensuring that only databases and applications directly related to the VirtuCrypt service are included within the VAP Access Virtual Private Cloud (VPC) boundaries. Additionally, only servers associated with VirtuCrypt should exist within that VPC. VirtuCrypt environments handle your organization’s secure and encrypted information. To protect your financial information security, we recommend keeping all other AWS environments in the organization separate. Following is a high-level sample of a Customer AWS Network diagram for your reference. In this diagram, the EC2 instances represent the applications that integrate with the customer’s VirtuCrypt service.
