# View log events

> Guide to viewing, filtering, pruning, and exporting audit logs on Excrypt Touch.

This section shows you how to view, filter, prune, and export audit logs on the Excrypt Touch. The audit logs contain information about events such as **logins**, **file encryptions/decryptions**, **file prints**, and **file downloads**.

Perform the following steps after logging in locally to the Excrypt Touch with the **print1** and **print2** identities:

    From the **Excrypt Touch Dashboard**, open the **Excrypt Touch Menu** by touching the vertical black bar on the right side of the screen and swiping left.

    Select the **Settings** icon, represented by a gear symbol, and select **Audit Logs** in the drop-down menu. This displays the following log options:

          <td>Enables you to filter the logs based on specific criteria, such as:<br /><strong>Log type</strong>:<ul><li>Auth</li><li>Object Change</li><li>Config Change</li><li>User Event</li><li>System Event</li><li>System Update</li><li>File Download</li><li>File Print</li><li>File Delete</li></ul><strong>Status</strong>:<ul><li>Success</li><li>Failure</li></ul></td>

          <td><strong>Prune</strong></td>
          <td>Enables you to prune some of the log output based on date.</td>
        </tr>

          <td><strong>Export</strong></td>
          <td>Enables you to export or download the audit logs. If you have attached a USB device or if you configured CIFS under <strong>Remote Drive Settings</strong> in the <strong>Excrypt Touch Menu</strong>, the <strong>\[ Export ]</strong> button is enabled.<br />If there is no USB and you did not configure CIFS, the <strong>\[ Export ]</strong> button is disabled.<br />Perform the following steps to export a file:<ol><li>Select <strong>\[ Export ]</strong>.</li><li>When prompted, enter a filename and select <strong>\[ Export ]</strong> again.</li><li>In the <strong>Export location</strong> window, select <strong>USB</strong> or <strong>CIFS</strong>. </li><li>Select <strong>\[ OK ]</strong> to initiate the export or download.</li></ol><Check>A message displays at the top of the screen saying: Successfully exported logs.<br /></Check></td>
