# Install Excrypt Manager (If using windows)

> Installation instructions for Excrypt Manager GUI tool on Windows for HSM configuration.

To configure your HSM, you can use Excrypt Manager, a Windows application that provides a GUI-based method, or **FXCLI**, a command-line-based method that you can install on all platforms.

Keep the following considerations in mind:

* If you configure the HSM from a Linux computer, skip this section and use FXCLI. If you configure it from a Windows computer, also [install FXCLI](/Integrations/HSM/Code_signing/Android_APKSigner/Install_Futurex_Command_Line_Interface_FXCLI), because you need it to create client certificates for mutual authentication.
* Install Excrypt Manager on the workstation on which you plan to configure the HSM.
* If you plan to use a Virtual HSM for the integration, you must perform all configurations by using either FXCLI, the Excrypt Touch, or the Guardian Series 3.
* Use Excrypt Manager 4.4.x or later, which supports HSM firmware 7.2.x.x and later.
